Friends of Safe Place, a nonprofit board for Safe Place, a child advocacy center in Washington County, sponsored the child-abuse summit called “Krimes Against Kids.”
The daylong summit also included author, journalist and political commentator Dominic Carter, who shared his story of abuse at the hands of his mother.
A discussion on child trafficking in Maryland followed. Trafficking is defined as the illegal trading of human beings, nationally and internationally, for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation.
